Gigondas
Het kleine broertje van Chateauneuf du Pape
The southern Côtes du Rhône region, where the Grenache grape rules, has 9 cru villages. Cairanne was the last to join this guild in 2016. Despite the fact that some villages and their vineyards adjoin each other, each cru village has its own specific DNA. And that is what makes wines from this region so interesting. Every cru village has its cave cooperative. And roughly speaking, you can say that 50% of the grape yield is sold to the cave by the smaller winegrowers. The percentage can of course differ per village. From 20HA there is a good chance that the winegrower manages the entire process himself. Both the smaller winegrowers and the cave cooperative produce more than good wines and also offer visitors a professional experience and tasting. Ask us about the Bacchus Grotto tips, the VanduPays wine & truffle tours and the tasting options.
Combine your visit to Bacchus Grotto with a visit to the cru wine villages of Cairanne, Rasteau, Vinsobres, Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise, Chateauneuf du Pape, Lirac and or Tavel.

Een Cru Village met uitstekende prijs kwaliteit balans
The southern Côtes du Rhône is a more than versatile wine region. In our cave we have more than 30 different types of wines from all nine cru villages. Cairanne, Rasteau, Vinsobres, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise, Gigondas, Chateauneuf du Pape, Lirac and Tavel. But we also have special wines from innovative modern winemakers from, among others, the Mont Ventoux region. We provide wine tastings and you can get acquainted with the basic sciences of tasting and making wine. We have a WSET certificate (Wine & Spirit Education Trust). Would you like to take a WSET course during your stay? Ask us about the possibilities
Van du Pays is our army green German Mercedes ambulance from 1987. With a large round seat in the back and a bench in the front, we can transport groups of 2 to 8 people and tour around Provence. Both in winter and in summer. Wine and olive oil all year round and truffle in the winter months. Lunch in a restaurant on the way or the "picnic" lunch is prepared by us in the kitchen of Van du Pays. But we can also prepare lunch (together) on our OFYR wood-fired plancha grill and eat it in our cave garden in Cairanne. You can enjoy and do not have to worry about an extra glass of Côtes du Rhône wine. We drive and on the way we tell you many stories about the history of and experiences in the Provence and Côtes du Rhône region.
